2027 DRAM and AI Memory Capacity Already Sold Out, Sparking Supply Chain Fears
kimmonismus · x · 2026-08-08
The full-year DRAM and HBM (AI memory) capacity for 2027 from dominant suppliers Samsung, SK hynix, and Micron has reportedly been completely allocated. SK hynix expects customer demand to exceed its production capacity beyond 2030.
Currently, China's CXMT is scaling aggressively and is seen as the only hope to alleviate the tight supply. This bottleneck is expected to directly impact the availability and production of Mac minis, MacBooks, and future data center buildouts.
