NVIDIA Releases Cosmos-Reason1-7B: A Model for Physical World Reasoning
MaziyarPanahi · x · 2026-08-08
NVIDIA has released the Cosmos-Reason1-7B model on Hugging Face. According to previous developer tests, the model can predict and reason about physical motions in videos, such as accurately anticipating the trajectory of jet planes, though it still struggles with complex object counting (e.g., mistaking 4 objects for 6).
The model can be run locally on a Mac Studio using MLX and SAM 3.1, demonstrating the potential of edge computing for video understanding and physical reasoning tasks.
