KeyForge3D: Open-Source Tool Converts Key Photos to 3D Models
tom_doerr · x · 2026-08-08
Developer makalin has released an open-source project called KeyForge3D on GitHub. Using computer vision, the tool extracts a 2D profile from a standard photo of a physical key, automatically analyzes the bitting pattern, and generates a 3D-printable STL file.
The project features a Tkinter-based GUI for easy image upload and processing. It is designed for locksmiths, hobbyists, or anyone needing quick key replication via 3D printing.
