Robot Learning Urgently Needs Harder Sim Evaluation Infra
KyleMorgenstein · x · 2026-08-08
In a discussion on robot learning, researchers pointed out that the widely used LIBERO simulation benchmark has become incredibly easy. At high success rates, the signal gained from it is unfortunately very low.
Consequently, there is a burning need to build new simulation evaluation infra. To genuinely demonstrate the power of simulation data in pre-training and post-training, developers are strongly recommended to create their own harder simulation tasks and conduct real-world evaluations.
