-Star-Walker- · reddit · 2026-08-08
The author shares their second attempt at generating video using the MiniMax H3 model on a 16GB RAM MacBook. The output quality improved significantly compared to the first try, driven by the following adjustments:
- Optimized Start Image: Used a full, highly detailed image as the reference instead of a scaled-down 0.1MP image.
- Higher Target Resolution: Increased the target size from 0.1MP to 0.2MP.
- LLM-Assisted Prompting: Used Claude to help generate the video prompt.
For a 5-second target video, the doubled pixel count increased generation time from 90 minutes to 110 minutes. Out of 6 generation runs, 3 were deemed acceptable, with the showcased result being the best of the batch.
