Chinese AI Firms Face EU Market Hurdle Over Missing Risk Assessments

To challenge US companies in the EU inference market, Chinese AI firms must align with the EU AI Act (EUAIA), which imposes strict requirements on models posing systemic risks, including state-of-the-art (SOTA) risk assessments and independent evaluations.

Unlike US developers, Chinese AI companies have not yet published catastrophic AI risk assessments or policies. However, these practices are mandatory under the EU AI Act.
