Duke University Releases AI Skill Library to Improve Academic Research Quality

To address the issue of AI generating an abundance of low-quality research, nearly 100 scholars at Duke University's Conference on Field Experiments in Strategy (CFXS) have collaborated to build a 'Research Skill Library'.
The project aims to transfer tacit expert knowledge into reusable AI skill files, helping researchers use AI to conduct better experimental research rather than just producing more papers. Available skills include:
- Pre-Flight: Audit study designs against qualitative pre-experiment interviews to identify missing constructs and measurement gaps.
- Enter the Convo: Map a research claim against existing literature through a staged review process.
- Publishability Test: Critique experimental drafts against target journal standards before running the experiment.
- Treatment Invertibility Stress-test: Check if a proposed treatment uniquely maps to its target theoretical construct to identify confounding variables.
