Developer Creates Pixel Crabs on Screen Edge to Track Claude Code Sessions
OkOpportunity1531 · reddit · 2026-08-08
To solve the issue of tracking multiple Claude Code sessions, a developer created Claudme: a tiny pixel crab that walks along the edge of your screen. By polling Claude Code's local session files, the crab reflects real-time status:
- Strolling slowly: Idle
- Hurrying with steam: Working at xhigh
- Stopping and hopping: Waiting for permission
- Confetti: Turn finished
- Asleep: Idle for 10+ minutes
- ⚠️: Rate limit
Clicking the crab brings the corresponding terminal to the front. Built in native Swift (3MB), it requires no screen recording or accessibility permissions and is open-source on GitHub.
