SpaceX Aims for 10GW Compute by 2027, Microsoft Projected as Largest Offtaker

A deep dive by SemiAnalysis suggests SpaceX is on track to build approximately 10GW of compute capacity by the end of 2027. This expansion could drive $300B to $500B in capex, with Microsoft expected to be the largest offtaker.
The analysis highlights the economics of compute supply and demand: large-scale, near-term compute is remarkably scarce, commanding premiums up to $50B/GW/year. However, based on their Tokenomics and Inference Simulator, running API inference on a GB300 cluster could generate over $100B/GW/year in revenue for OpenAI and Anthropic, easily covering the steep rental costs of current neoclouds.
