AI Agents and Bots Now Drive Over 50% of Internet Traffic, Cloudflare Reports
alexcovo_eth · x · 2026-08-08
For the first time, over 50% of internet traffic is driven by non-human sources like AI agents and bots, according to Cloudflare data. Automated traffic hit approximately 57% in key metrics earlier this year, with CEO Matthew Prince noting in June that this milestone arrived well ahead of the predicted 2027 timeline.
As the "agentic internet" emerges, publishers and websites face new realities and challenges regarding content access, controls, and monetization.
