Roku Launches 24/7 AI-Generated Channel, Criticized as 'Eating from a Trough'

Streaming platform Roku recently added four new channels to its Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) lineup, including a 24/7 stream dedicated entirely to AI-generated content.
The programming for this channel is primarily provided by Colin Petrie-Norris' AI startup. While FAST channels are typically appealing for helping users (re)discover classic films and series, Roku's experimental pivot to pure AI-generated content has drawn heavy media criticism. A journalist at The Verge harshly reviewed the low-quality, mechanical viewing experience, comparing it to "eating from a trough."
