LangChain Founder Declares Managed Agents as the Next Era of AI Development

Harrison Chase, founder of LangChain, announced the launch of Managed Deep Agents, a new solution designed to be the easiest way to build, run, and deploy production-ready agents.
He contextualized the release by outlining the evolution of agent building:
- Early Frameworks (Late 2022/Early 2023): Tools like LangChain, ChatGPT, and AutoGPT offered a first look at leveraging LLMs.
- Mature Frameworks (2024 - H1 2025): The emergence of LangGraph, Google ADK, and Vercel’s AI SDK gave developers fine-grained control to build actual, reliable agents.
Chase argues that we are now entering the next phase of agent building, which requires robust, managed infrastructure to handle production complexities.
