Someone collected verbatim system prompts from 16 AI companies, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Copilot, Perplexity, Cursor, DeepSeek, and Kimi. These prompts reveal the rules each model reads before the first message. The repo systempromptsleaks has 62.4k stars. The Washington Post and CEPS built interactive stories and dashboards based on it. Ironically, Microsoft owns GitHub, and Copilot's leaked prompt sits on its own servers. The maintainer is an AI hobbyist from Iceland.
