Video generation model Seedance 2.5 has officially arrived. The author put it head-to-head against version 2.0 using the exact same prompts across four completely different cinematic genres, finding the differences to be bigger than expected.
The test covered four highly challenging scenarios:
- Hollywood Action & Drone Cinematography: These stress camera motion, physics, scene consistency, and speed better than anything else. Version 2.5 feels smoother, more confident, and much more cinematic.
- Sci-Fi: Featuring massive futuristic cities, flying vehicles, and complex lighting—usually where video models fall apart—2.5 holds together surprisingly well and remains coherent.
- Romance: Instead of explosions, this relies on subtle facial expressions, body language, and believable emotion, which is where the model's improvements became most obvious.
