Developer ashishsanu released local LoRA training support for the MiniMax H3 video model, along with detailed benchmarks and a tutorial. The previous version only supported static images and couldn't learn motion; this update allows training directly on short video clips to capture specific movement styles.
Key Performance Data (on RTX PRO 4500):
- VRAM Friendly: Training itself uses only 11.7 GB VRAM. With the 32B text encoder (requiring 20.5 GB, dropped after computation), peak VRAM stays at 20.9 GB, meaning 16GB cards (like the Tesla T4) can handle it.
- Speed: Training on clips is about 4x slower per step than still images (3.01s/step vs 0.72s/step), primarily due to increased sequence length rather than VRAM limits.
The author also provided a public dataset of 173 pixel-art clips, open-sourced the Inline-Studio trainer, and outlined the full workflow from installation to training.
