NVIDIA Exec: Reasoning Model Alpamayo Solves Self-Driving's Long Tail Problem

NVIDIA's Matt Cragun stated that self-driving has been stuck "5 years away" for over a decade due to the core bottleneck of "long tail" edge cases. NVIDIA is tackling this with Alpamayo, a large reasoning model that goes beyond mere perception to actually think through and decide driving behaviors for unpredictable road scenarios.
