A developer released a lightweight extension plugin for pi and prime-agent to integrate native codex-v2 context compaction support.
Unlike prompt-based naive compaction, the plugin leverages native Codex compaction which is speculated to perform better, despite its encrypted output. The author notes there is still room for improvement by adopting dedicated Codex compaction extensions instead of simple prompts.
