According to reputable leaker @syntheavedd, OpenAI is preparing to launch Astra imminently, potentially as early as next week. Astra is a new pretrain and the largest model OpenAI has trained since GPT-4.5.
The most recent internal dogfood checkpoint, codenamed "mewfour", is reportedly the release candidate.
