Man Builds AI Voice-Controlled Thermal Printer System to Track Moving Boxes
itsarnavb · x · 2026-08-07
To make shifting more fun, a developer built an AI and hardware system to tag and track moving cartons.
Workflow:
- Hold a button and use voice commands to describe what the box contains and which room it belongs to.
- The system automatically generates labels with short summaries and QR codes.
- A thermal printer instantly produces the tags, making it easy to scan and verify items while loading and unloading the truck.
The developer and his mother made over 120 labels in a single day, mostly via voice commands. He also wore gloves during the process to avoid endocrine disruptors found in thermal paper.
