ByteDance Rumored to Pre-Train 10T Parameter Model, Researcher Predicts a Flop
suchenzang · x · 2026-08-07
Rumors suggest ByteDance is pre-training an AI model with up to 10T parameters, roughly 3x the size of Kimi K3 and potentially larger than estimates for Anthropic's Mythos 5.
In response, AI researcher Alex Suchenzang registered a bold prediction that the project will be a flop. His core argument is that the highly competent VP team has a fatal weakness: they neither know nor care to know the technical details involved in pre-training.
