Elon Musk announced the official release of Grok Build v1.0.0, xAI's CLI coding agent. It is powered by Grok 4.5 and available for free.
Key features and updates include:
- Plan Mode: For complex tasks, the agent generates an architectural plan first. Edits are blocked until approved, and changes are shown as clean diffs.
- Skills & Plugins: Works with AGENTS.md, plugins, hooks, and MCP servers out of the box. Users can capture sessions as new skills via /skillify and share capabilities through a plugin marketplace.
- UI & Terminal UX: The dashboard shows summaries of previous agent actions, Markdown tables reflow properly in narrow panes, and auto theme detection now works over SSH and inside tmux.
