DeepSeek Seeks $8B Funding, V4 Pro Reportedly Just 0.3% Behind Claude in Coding
imjustnewatai · x · 2026-08-07
According to a circulating unsigned Chinese investment memo, DeepSeek is seeking nearly $8 billion in new funding.
The memo claims that DeepSeek's upcoming V4 Pro model trails Claude's flagship by only 0.3% in coding capabilities. The model features a 1 million token context window and, as an open-weight model, costs a fraction of closed-frontier alternatives.
If DeepSeek's next update closes the capability gap without losing its price advantage, coding intelligence could be repriced overnight.
