Extracting Meta Agent System Prompts Boosts Cline Bug-Fixing Efficiency
alejandroll10 · x · 2026-08-07
Due to a Docker login bug in Meta's new Muse Code agent, the Cline team extracted Muse's system prompt and applied it to the Cline harness.
Key prompting strategies include: trusting source code over user prompts, weighing edge/error cases equally, reproducing bugs before fixing, distrusting the first passing test suite, and continuing until changes are fully verified.
In a real-world bug fix test, the modified Cline harness consumed approximately 1/2.7x fewer tokens, significantly boosting the agent's execution efficiency.
