Why Normal People Aren't Using AI Agents

The tech industry is obsessed with AI agents, but the general public remains largely indifferent. Josh Miller, CEO of The Browser Company, noted that almost no one outside the tech bubble uses or talks about agents, emphasizing the need to build products consumers actually want.
While OpenAI and Anthropic report around 10 million weekly active users for their coding and workflow agents, this is still far from mainstream adoption. However, some suspect that upcoming iOS releases could be the dam-busting moment, integrating agents natively into everyone's phones with simple UX.
