Google Cloud Run Introduces Sandboxes to Isolate Untrusted AI Agent Payloads

rseroter · x · 2026-08-07

Google Cloud has announced the rollout of sandbox functionality for Cloud Run worker pools (background runners) and jobs (run-to-completion).

This feature provides a fast, secure, and isolated environment specifically designed to run agent workflows, execute untrusted payloads, and handle events in isolation within worker pools. The sandbox is highly optimized for latency, running within the same instance as the container while sharing its allocated CPU and memory.
