Tame the Cables: Open-Source ComfyUI Cable Management Extension Coming Soon
barney_tearspell · reddit · 2026-08-07
A developer showcased an upcoming open-source cable management extension for ComfyUI designed to clean up messy node connections. Built entirely around vanilla ComfyUI features, workflows created with it remain fully functional even if the extension is uninstalled.
Key features include:
- Routing optimization: Hides excess plumbing, routes links to avoid crossing nodes, and uses rounded corners to clarify junctions.
- Pin enhancements: Input pins get passthrough outputs for daisy chaining; widgets get output pins for primitive value extraction (e.g., one KSampler controlling subsequent ones).
- Reroute upgrades: Supports merging multiple reroutes into ribbons and allows bidirectional routing.
- Decluttering: Unused optional inputs and outputs can be collapsed and hidden.
The extension is currently undergoing QA, and the repository should be public soon.
