The massive computing demands of global AI infrastructure are causing a ripple effect in the electronic component supply chain. Multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), dubbed the "rice of electronics," are entering what Goldman Sachs describes as the "largest and longest" expansion cycle in the industry's history.

Chinese upstream suppliers are racing to expand capacity to meet surging global orders. For instance, Shandong Sinocera, a major supplier of dielectric powder (a core MLCC material), recently reported that its new production lines dedicated to AI servers and vehicles are partially operational. The company saw a nearly 17% year-on-year sales growth in the first half of the year, reaching 2.5 billion yuan.
