Ex-OpenAI Employee Launches Energy, Automating Browser Tasks
gabriel1 · x · 2026-08-07
Energy, a newly launched startup founded by former OpenAI employee Gabriel, aims to fully automate tedious computer tasks for users.
According to early testers, the tool takes over various manual browser tasks, including:
- Managing multi-platform messages (Slack, Email, X, IG, TikTok, etc.)
- Scheduling and appointments (flights, hotels, doctors, etc.)
- Executing business and personal payments
- Conducting influencer marketing and UGC outreach
- Posting content across social media platforms
Testers report a massive productivity boost, noting they've stopped using Claude and Codex entirely in favor of Energy, which is also cheaper. The product aims to onboard the general public—who rarely use AI currently—into daily AI-assisted workflows.
