Moonshot's open-weight model Kimi K3 is now generally available in GitHub Copilot, hosted by Fireworks AI.
- Key Advantage: The model demonstrates frontier-level abilities in agentic coding with highly cost-effective pricing.
- Supported Clients: It is rolling out gradually across major IDEs including VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains, and Xcode, as well as GitHub Mobile.
- Enterprise Controls: For Copilot Business and Enterprise users, Kimi K3 is off by default. Administrators must manually enable the model policy in settings and are advised to review the open-weight model against their own security and compliance requirements before activation.
