Replit CEO's Controversial Take: Entrepreneurs Who Never Learned to Code Have the Edge
amasad · x · 2026-08-07
After previously claiming that people should no longer learn to code, Replit CEO Amjad Masad has escalated his stance. He now believes that never learning to code might actually be an edge for entrepreneurs.
He explained that developers often fall into the trap of examining code, overthinking architecture, and wanting to use the latest and greatest tech, leading to wasted time and distraction. In contrast, entrepreneurs without coding baggage can focus purely on the business. Replit is currently valued at $9 billion and employs 200 people.
