Leaked DeepSeek Audio: Liang Wenfeng Says Demand is Inelastic, Doubling Price Nearly Doubles Revenue
morqon · x · 2026-08-07
According to a leaked audio recording from a DeepSeek investor meeting, founder Liang Wenfeng discussed the company's pricing strategy and profit logic.
He stated that if the company wanted to maximize profits, they could easily charge more. At the current price point, demand for DeepSeek is inelastic: even if the price were increased by 50% or doubled, token consumption would not change significantly. Therefore, if they chose to double the price, total revenue would almost double as well.
