Rumor: Gemini 3.5 Pro is a disaster, possibly triggering DeepMind restructuring
Neurogence · reddit · 2026-08-07
According to a leaker with a track record of accurately predicting model release windows, the upcoming Google Gemini 3.5 Pro is a "disaster."
The leak points out several severe issues with the model:
- Hallucinating requirements: Frequently generates content that users did not ask for.
- UI regression: Far inferior to the previous 3.0 Pro, and surprisingly, worse than xAI's Grok.
- Capability decline: Lost its edge in web development and 3D generation. It has become highly restrictive, outputting corporate-style template slop.
Given DeepMind's recent major organizational restructuring, there is speculation that the model's failure to catch up to the frontier triggered the leadership adjustments.
