Sam Altman-Backed Oklo Achieves Reactor Criticality in Under a Year

Oklo, a nuclear energy company backed by Sam Altman, announced that its Groves Isotope Test Reactor has achieved first criticality less than a year after breaking ground.
Supported by the DOE’s Reactor Pilot Program, it is the fastest fully privately financed and built reactor project of its kind, proving that advanced reactors can be deployed much faster than previously thought.
