Grokipedia Stopped Reviewing Edits Three Months Ago Without Notice
gaganghotra_ · x · 2026-08-06
According to an in-depth analysis by Lawfare, Grokipedia, the AI-generated encyclopedia launched by xAI in October 2025, appears to have ceased updating itself. Since April 24, the platform has not processed any human-suggested edits, and no entries have changed.
Grokipedia launched with roughly 885,000 machine-generated articles and now claims over 6 million. Its core mechanism relies on an LLM to decide what to write and when to edit itself. This three-month halt in the edit pipeline raises significant questions about the self-governance capabilities and reliability of automated AI knowledge bases.
