Demis Hassabis Steps Back from DeepMind Daily Leadership to Focus on AGI as Chief Scientist

Demis Hassabis announced he is stepping back from day-to-day leadership of Google DeepMind to become Chair of Google DeepMind and Chief Scientist of Alphabet. He will shift his entire focus to advancing AGI, driving scientific breakthroughs, and curing diseases via Isomorphic Labs. He noted that humanity is at a pivotal moment and feels AGI is close at hand.
