Armin Ronacher announced the release of Pi 0.84.0, introducing several practical updates to the AI terminal tool.
- UI & Rendering: Added a fullscreen TUI mode, support for rendering Mermaid diagrams and LaTeX math in interactive transcripts, and improved Windows compatibility.
- Context & Sampling: Introduced AGENTS.override.md for per-directory context overrides, and allowed configuration of arbitrary OpenAI-compatible custom sampling parameters.
- Architecture Changes: Refactored message update events to eliminate quadratic output growth, and adjusted model registry and request transform interfaces.
- Provider Support: Added built-in Baseten authentication and model support.
