AWS Bedrock Launches Native Web Search for OpenAI Models
DigitalColmer · x · 2026-08-06
Amazon AWS announced that its Bedrock platform now natively supports Web Search for OpenAI's GPT models.
This update significantly simplifies developer workflows by eliminating the need for third-party search vendors or complex API orchestration. Developers only need to add a single parameter to their existing OpenAI Responses API calls, and Bedrock handles the entire search lifecycle server-side, returning grounded answers with citations. Additionally, the feature ensures that all data remains within the user's secure AWS environment without any data leakage.
