Physicist Sabine Hossenfelder recently echoed Gary Marcus's concerns about AI reliability. She pointed out that even if models are augmented with visual and perceptual data, as proposed by Elon Musk, current linear system architectures cannot effectively integrate this information to achieve true agency and human-level consciousness.

She argued that to break through existing capability bottlenecks, AI architecture must undergo a fundamental shift—from traditional linear systems to field-based chaotic systems utilizing quantum mechanics.
