BMC Vulnerabilities Allow Backdooring of Thousands of Enterprise Servers

Security research reveals that thousands of internet-connected servers from top manufacturers can be remotely backdoored by exploiting critical vulnerabilities hidden deep within system motherboards, some over a decade old.
Baseboard Management Controllers (BMCs) are miniature computers embedded in enterprise server motherboards, running their own OS and network stack. Administrators rely on them for out-of-band management tasks like physical monitoring and OS reinstallation, even when the server is powered off. These flaws expose a massive security blind spot in current data center infrastructures.
