Resharing @viemccoy's insights, the post argues that AI alignment is partially-to-mostly an information ecology problem. Consequently, there is an urgent need to create novel, high-quality data to provide models with a good timeline to latch onto. The author encourages researchers to even train models themselves if they are able to, in order to tackle this alignment challenge.
