MIT Researcher: Current AI Models Might Already Be AGI with the Right Harness
TheZachMueller · x · 2026-08-06
MIT PhD student Alex Zhang suggests that current AI models might already qualify as AGI when equipped with the right agent harnesses.
While true automation remains uncertain, Zhang notes that external frameworks can significantly boost a model's capabilities and generalization. Many limitations attributed to the models themselves might actually be solved by developing better orchestration tools.
