The Next Frontier Models Will Be Born from AI-Run Experiments
imjustnewatai · x · 2026-08-06
The author makes a bold prediction about the trajectory of large language models: the last frontier model primarily designed by humans may already exist.
In the near future, a single model will autonomously run thousands of experiments on architecture, data, code, and chips. Only when it discovers a dramatic improvement will labs train its successor. The next generation of models will essentially be the previous model's automated research converted into weights.
