OpenAI and Anthropic Could Reach $100B Revenue Within Two Years
robleclerc · x · 2026-08-06
Rob Leclerc proposes measuring AI value unlock by tracking Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) changes across major model milestones:
- OpenAI: Expected to add $19B ARR moving from GPT-4 to GPT-5 (10x), and +$60B from GPT-5 to GPT-5.6 (3x).
- Anthropic: Claude 3.5 to 4 added $2B, with subsequent versions projected to bring multi-billion to ten-billion dollar increments.
He predicts that within 1-2 years (2-3 more model releases), both companies could become 10x more capable, potentially reaching $1 trillion in revenue and generating a high multiple of that value for customers.
