White House's Frontier AI Review Framework Kept Internal, Think Tank Files FOIA

The U.S. Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD) recently finalized a 30-day review framework for frontier AI models, but Axios reported that it will not be released to the public.
In response, the Center for AI Progress and the Frontier Legal Defense program have swiftly submitted Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to ONCD and corresponding agencies to force the framework's disclosure. Advocates emphasize that such regulatory frameworks should be developed in the open to maintain the American system of checks and balances.
