Regarding the common criticisms of AI academic conferences, a perspective suggests that academia shouldn't take all the blame. Data indicates that 36% of papers at NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR in 2024 had at least one industry author. Thus, the flaws and responsibilities of these conferences should be shared proportionally between academia and the industry.
