Anthropic Rolls Out In-Country Inference in India; Dev Warns Against Makeshift Moats

Anthropic announced it will process Claude requests on Indian servers via Amazon Bedrock to offer in-country inference. Reacting to this, a developer commented that building makeshift houses on receding shores is futile given the rapid expansion of foundational LLMs. They argued that the real competitive moat in the AI space over the next decade won't be deployment locations, but being the absolute best for the specific audience you care about.
