Google legends Jeff Dean, Sanjay Ghemawat, Oriol Vinyals, and Quoc Le have founded Discovery Loop, a Public Benefit Corporation aiming to automate ML, science, and engineering. According to WIRED, the idea came up only weeks ago; Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai tried to retain them but failed. The team hasn't started hiring yet, potentially leading to more Google departures.
