DeepSeek API Adds Responses Format with Built-in Web Search and Codex Support
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-08-06
DeepSeek's official API now supports the Responses API format. It currently supports the deepseek-v4-flash model, with plans to support deepseek-v4-pro by early August 2026.
The new interface introduces two major updates:
- Built-in Web Search: Developers can enable server-side web search simply by declaring the websearch tool in the request parameters, eliminating the need to integrate third-party search engines.
- Codex Integration: With simple configuration, developers can now use DeepSeek models directly within Codex for coding assistance.
Additionally, the API supports semantic streaming SSE events, allowing developers to handle reasoning chains, tool calls, and text generation processes granularly.
