Real-Time Video Models Break Mobile AR Bottleneck: Realistic Clothes Without Undressing
jnack · x · 2026-08-06
Addressing the bottleneck in scaling mobile AR experiences, industry experts point out that the biggest blocker has been creating 3D content. Now, real-time video models make it possible to generate AR content on the fly.
VFX expert Bilawal Sidhu noted that this solves the barrier to entry for AR content creation. Veteran John Nack added that the tech also solves another major blocker: traditional body tracking and rendering required users to strip down to almost nothing in front of the camera for realistic clothes fitting, making it effectively unusable for everyone. The new real-time models eliminate this privacy and UX pain point.
