Latent Space DJ Launches: A Local Real-Time AI Music Mixing Instrument
anselm · x · 2026-08-06
Latent Space DJ (LSDJ) is an instrument designed for real-time AI music generation. It features a dual-deck interface where users can stream music generated live from text prompts and blend them like vinyl records to invent new genres.
The tool includes a full DJ mixer (with 3-band EQ, effects, and loops) and can be controlled via standard MIDI hardware. It also integrates MCP, allowing an AI assistant to read the booth and drive the decks and prompts automatically. Users can load custom LoRAs to bend the generation toward specific sounds.
Running entirely on local hardware (Apple silicon), the native Rust engine ensures that all creation stays private and offline without the need for cloud accounts.
